Congratulations on another successful marching band season.

I enjoyed your show at Central Dauphin this year.  I took my 10 year old niece with me so that she can see what a wonderful experience she could have being apart of a marching band unit.  She was really impressed, and it was an added treat to have the Blue Wave come out on top.

I am glad to see such a wonderful web site where I can stay connected to the Blue Wave Marching Band.  Good luck throughout the rest of the school year.  I will be looking forward to another exciting show next year!

Well another season passes. And speaking for the blue wave, you guys have NOTHING to be ashamed of. As a junior, I understand how the freshman feel about everything. I know everyone was down at first becuase we didn't make it to ACC's. But you guys put forth A LOT of effort throughout band camp. Even with some changes, you guys put forth 110% over all the whole season. We did have some First places and we did end out the season knowing we put forth a lot of effort through our competition season. To the freshman, don't be down becuase of ACC's or because of any other things that happened this year. Next year is our chance to return to Lackawanna County Stadium for ACC's. Being a senior next year, I wanna make it to ACC's and with next years Sophmores, Juniors and Seniors i know it can be possible for us to make it. So I say to this years freshman, and sophmores..lets set a good influence for next years freshman. Great Job this Year Blue Wave! We'll see yah back here next July!

Now is the time to let everyone in this band know how great a job, well done is in order. Remember the start of band camp, yes I think you all know how things started. At the end of summer and the beginning of your competitions you have changed, most for the better. To go from day one, to all of your awards is a great accomplishment. This all happened because of you, and your new FIRST YEAR Band Director. Things can get rough, but the most important thing is you have work together, and that showed at some of your FIRST PLACE awards. Team Work and Leadership either young or old takes effort and respect to build on, and this takes time. To the Band Director and Band Members, congradulations on a great year and an outstanding performance.

I really like your site, great job.  I came here by way of the Internet Marching Band Web Award site.  Your overall use design and use of color is very nice. I like the menu bar.  Tons of information presented very efficiently. The maps are a great idea.  The alumni page is a feature I will have to add to my site, once we have alumni, that is.  We are wrapping up our second year in a brand new school.  Y'all come visit us some time, ya hear?

I think that MAHS Blue Wave had a fabulous year!  With all change there are adjustments that need to be made and overall you guys handled it well!  I'm sorry that the seniors didn't achieve what they wanted with ACC's.  I hope that the blame is not placed in the freshmans as I have been hearing.  Any unit is as strong as it's weakest link and it's up to the other links to carry the load.  Every year freshman need to be encouraged and taken under other's wings as they adjust to a different world.  We all have been in their shoes at one point in our lives.

Our band director suggested that I include the web address for your TOB Scores page in our upcoming newletter, so I thought I'd better check out the site before publishing it.  I am impressed.  Not only will I publish the site address in our Marching Cavaliers Parents' Association newsletter, but I will suggest that a link be added to our Fabulous Marching Cavaliers' web page when it is updated.  Hope to see you at the ACC.

Dear Middletown,

I know that many of you are sick of the TOB judges scoring our band real LOW!!!!  I know its my last year and well i would like to get a shot at ACC..many of you know bout it....and those of you who dont hopefully some day well make it...I think we just need to pull our head together and work a little more on music, the drill, and alot of time on the intonation..and maybe we can still come back and kick some MIDDLETOWN @$$!!!  We can do it weve done it before...just cuz we got a new director dont mean we cant do it...we are losing confidence just focus and it will work out...]

I HOPE!!!

Peace Yall,

(Middletown Basist)

I may not speak for the band as a whole, but I do speak for myself, and that's what I am doing presently.  As a band, we  criticize things that we have no control over, like the early arrival of our drill, or our great win at Mechanicsburg.  Sometimes, we may be too hasty to point the finger and assign the blame.  The main reason we do this is because we, as Middletown students, are not partial to change.

We regret that Mr. Martin had to leave us, and were not thrilled when we heard we were getting a band director that was only nine years older than we were.  When we started the season, we were easy to criticize, and rebelled because of small things.  At some times, we may not seem as though we are dedicated band members.  Believe me, the insider, we are.  It's just that getting used to such a drastic change has made us unsure of ourselves.  Don't give up on us.

I would love to see old images and information about past Bluewave Bands before 1995 , I am also interested in finding copies of video tapes made of the band in the 1990-91 and the 1991-92 band seasons. I believe these videos were made with the help of the Walck family. Plez e-mail me with any information on this!!!!!

Thanks and Good luck this year "Bluewave"!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, I am a Blue Wave Band player.I wish to keep my name anonymous to protect my privacy. I am a very proud blue wave band student. I believe we got off to a very unexpected great start by earning 1st place at the Central Dauphin Band-A-Ram-A. Congratulations All! The reason we earned that was because all the hard work we put in during band camp and the PRIDE that has kept with us even though Mr. Martin left. I believe our thoughts were in the "dark" on how we were gonna do this year and the only reason was because the big change in our "family", that being our Band Director Mr. Martin leaving and stepping down to middle school band director. We had a very strong relationship with him, we achieved our first consecutive return to ACC's last year and the year before. He had to do what he had to do. Things change and you have to move on. A new band director was hired. Mr. Fisher, WELCOME! He was previously a marching band director so he is very educated in what is goin on. And none of this is no offense to Mr. Fisher. He is great, I like him. And look what's happened all ready, he's led us to a 1st place finish at our first competition at the Central Dauphin Band-A-Ram-A Competition. That's first impressions!! Although we did earn first place last year at the same competition!! All Kudos to Mr. Fisher for his hard work and for putting up with us! After Central Dauphin we held a score of 80.5 and standing at 7th in group three for T.O.B. Then just last week at our home competition, The "Sea of Sounds" we earned and 81.55 in exhibition! So the hard work of us AND Mr. Fisher is paying off. Then just this past weekend, we competed at Mechanicsburg's Music in the Park. We went there with an 81.55, we went with PRIDE, our most important thing in Middletown!! Then coming time for group 3 awards.... We listen, 3rd place is announced. We sit with suspense, to find out our earnings. The score is announced for 2nd place, 79.35. We are thinking.. can't be us... we're in suspense, then "MIDDLETOWN" is announced for 2nd place, we all first think we hear another band's name meaning we came in first. We all jump with hollers at first, then realizing they said Middletown for 2nd, and there is sort of not much of a cheer from the blue wave band anymore... our people that were standing in joy just turn silent and clap a little and sit, I myself just sat, didn't even jump. Wondering why... why we got 2nd, with such a great performance. We then hear that there were no penalty's, no timing penalties, pit crew wasn't late, there was nothing of that matter. Now we do have this coming weekend the 9th of October off. But we'll be back for Saturday the 16th, homecoming for us. We will be at the Littlestown Competition. We will make up for this and we hope to see you there if your band will be there, may the best band win!!

I was a member of the Middletown High School band from the 1962-1963 school year until the end of the 1964-1965 school year (my freshman through my junior year).  I did not get to play my senior year or get to graduate from Middletown High School, even though I had attended school, first at Feaser (which was an elementary school) beginning in first grade, then at the high school. During my junior year the Air Force closed Olmsted Air Force Base, where my father was employed.  The result of the closure was to move my family from Middletown to Warner Robins, Georgia, where I graduated in 1966.  Even though I was not able to graduate from Middletown, I have always considered myself as an alumi of Middletown.

While at Middletown, I played trumpet.  Our group was the first into the "new" high school.

My wife and I passed through Middletown this past June on our way to Cape Cod and we drove out to the high school. I was pleasently surprised to find the band's trailer when we drove around the back of the school.  From your trailer I got your web page address.  It is great to be able to go to your web site and keep up with what the band is doing.

Since leaving Middletown I graduated from Maryville College with a Bachelors in Education and played in the college band.  I have taught elementary school in Blount County (pronounced blunt) since 1972 and spent 10 years teaching trumpet as well as assisting in teaching drill for the William Blount High School Band. I am currently Information Systems Technician for the Blount County School District. We have an enrollment of over 10,000 students and over 1,100 school employees.

Keep up the good work.

Hi! I play trombone for the West Fork High School Tiger Marching Band. I am one of four trombone plavers in our band of 56.  This year we marched Gustav Holst's "The Planets" including "Mars", "Venus", & "Jupiter". We won a few awards and had marginal success this year.

I would like to congradulate you on your success this year.

Do you guys have a indoor guard and/or percussion this year??? I am in Insurrection (WHS Indoor guard). Just curious!!! Thanks again and congrats. on a great season!!
